We offer detection services for narcotics and explosives to individuals, businesses, contractors, and government agencies. All results are maintained with confidentiality and discretion.
OUR DETECTION TRAINING METHOD
K9 Protection Services LLC uses positive-reinforcement-based training for scent detection. Our detection K9s are trained through motivation, reward, repetition, and their natural drive to search and work.
We do not use electronic collars (e-collars) to train detection K9s to locate or indicate target odors. The dog learns that successfully locating and identifying a trained odor results in a positive reward, helping develop a confident, motivated, and enthusiastic working K9.
Our detection K9s are trained to provide a passive sit, stare, and stay indication when they locate a trained target odor. Passive indications are particularly useful when working around explosives, firearms, businesses, schools, residences, vehicles, people, packages, and other sensitive environments. Training and maintenance are designed around the individual K9, with an emphasis on odor recognition, search patterns, environmental exposure, handler communication, indication reliability, and continued proficiency.
K9 and handler teams are trained and evaluated as a working team, and continuing maintenance training is an important part of maintaining operational performance.

Our detection K9s and handlers are trained and evaluated as working teams. Certification includes evaluation of the K9's ability to locate trained target odors, provide a reliable indication, work effectively with its handler, and perform in applicable operational environments.
Certification is only one part of maintaining a professional detection K9 team. Regular maintenance training, odor recognition, environmental exposure, handler proficiency, documentation, and continued evaluation are used to help maintain operational readiness.

GUN/black POWDER, FLASH POWDER, ACETONE/ PEROXIDES e.g. HMTD, TATP and all their derivatives.
In most any type of environment.
Other odors can be added or removed if needed.
Two-Hour Minimum $250-$1,000 per hour
Can a Private K9 Team Conduct Detection Screening on Private Property?
Yes, in appropriate circumstances. K9 Protection Services LLC may provide non-contact K9 detection screening on private property when authorized by the property owner, business, employer, event operator, or other party having lawful authority and when permitted by applicable law.
The Fourth Amendment protects against unreasonable governmental searches and seizures and generally applies to government action rather than searches independently conducted by private parties. See United States v. Jacobsen, 466 U.S. 109 (1984).
However, private-property ownership does not create unlimited authority to search another person. Consent, conditions of entry, ownership or control of the property being screened, employment policies, contractual rights, state law, and the circumstances of the screening may affect what is permitted.
A private K9 team may also become subject to constitutional restrictions when it acts as an agent or instrument of the government. See Skinner v. Railway Labor Executives' Association, 489 U.S. 602 (1989).
K9 Protection Services does not claim general law-enforcement authority. A K9 indication does not, by itself, authorize our personnel to forcibly search, arrest, or unlawfully detain an individual. When appropriate, further action is referred to the property owner, authorized representative, or law enforcement.
Does K9 Protection Services require authorization before conducting a detection assignment?
Yes. K9 Protection Services reserves the right to verify the requesting party's authority and to establish the permitted scope of an assignment before conducting detection services.
We also reserve the right to decline an assignment when appropriate authorization cannot be established, when the requested activity exceeds the lawful role of a private K9 provider, or when the circumstances could improperly place K9 Protection Services in the role of a governmental or law-enforcement agency.
